Nuna TAVO Next Travel System: Viral… but Is It Really Worth It?



If you’ve been on TikTok, Instagram, or Pinterest lately, you’ve probably seen the Nuna TAVO Next Travel System everywhere.

I did my research, watched countless reviews, went to the store to test different strollers in person—and this was the one I chose.


After using it as a first-time mom, here’s my real, honest experience: what I like, what I don’t, and what I would choose instead depending on your budget.





What I Like About the Nuna TAVO Next



Let’s start with the good, because it does have some great features.


  • Super easy to fold – you can truly fold it with one hand
  • Stands on its own when folded (huge plus when you’re alone)
  • Very smooth ride and feels sturdy
  • High-quality materials – it looks and feels premium
  • Works seamlessly with the Nuna PIPA RX, which I absolutely love



I own the Nuna PIPA RX, and honestly, the car seat itself is amazing.

It feels safe, solid, and well-made.





What I Don’t Like (and Why It Matters as a Newborn Mom)



This is where things started to matter more after actually using it.



❌ Baby Can Only Face Forward in Stroller Mode



Once you’re using it as a stroller (not the car seat), your baby can only face forward.

You can’t switch it so your baby faces you.


For the first months postpartum, this matters more than I expected.

As a new mom, you constantly want to see your baby, check their breathing, their face, and feel connected during walks.





❌ No Bassinet Option



This was a big one for me.


The Nuna TAVO Next does not have a bassinet attachment, and there’s no way to add one later.


A bassinet is incredibly useful:


  • For walks when baby falls asleep
  • For longer strolls without keeping baby in a car seat
  • For gentle outings while baby stays fully flat
  • Even for things like supervised tummy time while walking around the neighborhood



Once I experienced life with a newborn, I realized how much I missed this option.





❌ The Car Seat Is Heavy



The Nuna PIPA RX is great, but it’s heavy—especially once your baby grows.


My baby is 3 months old and weighs 18 pounds, and at this point:


  • I can’t really carry the car seat on its own
  • I always have to click it onto the stroller



Not a deal-breaker, but something to know if you’re petite or recovering postpartum.




❌. Takes Up a Lot of Space



This is BIG for real life.

The Nuna TAVO Next is wide and bulky, and if you have a small trunk, it struggles to fit nicely — especially with other bags.

This matters more than I expected when you’re going out solo or into smaller escalators/places.

The stroller doesn’t come with a cup holder or parent tray. You have to buy the accessory separately, which is inconvenient — especially when you’re out with a baby and need quick access to water, coffee, or a bottle.

The basket underneath is quite small and doesn’t fit a full diaper bag. I couldn’t fit my regular diaper bag down there, which meant carrying it on my shoulder instead — not ideal for everyday outings.

So… Is the Nuna TAVO Next Bad?



No.

It’s a beautiful, high-quality travel system, and I understand why it’s viral.


But for newborn life, especially as a first-time mom, there are things I didn’t realize I would miss until I was living it.





A More Affordable Option: Evenflo Travel System





If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly and more compact, the Evenflo travel systems are a solid alternative.
